An exciting workshop is coming to Scales and being lead by two of Scales own people,
Jeri Carmichael-Comprehensive Development Teacher and Parent Gwen Dyer.
Autism Orientation
When: March 20th 6-8 pm
Where: Scales Library
What is It?
Target Audience: Parents and Professionals A two-hour informational session autism and other Pervasive
Developmental disorders conducted by a teacher with extensive training in the field of autism and an a parent of a child with autism
Who Should Attend?
This orientation is for parents of both newly-diagnosed and previously diagnosed children, grandparents, educators, psychologists, pediatricians and other medical professionals, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, early interventionists, and other service providers.
Is there a Cost?
No, there is no cost for the sessions

· Characteristics of Autism, Aspergers, Pervasive Developmental Delay, and other Autism Spectrum Disorders
· How autism affects behavior
· Implications for learning and intervention
· Parent’s perspective on intervention and family support services available in our community
